The rush of the holidays seems to start earlier and earlier every year. Retail stores begin selling Christmas decor before the Halloween candy goes into close-out status. Now people talk about Black Friday and Cyber Monday while many retailers are open all day on Thanksgiving. We are not putting out a Bah Humbug attitude about the holidays. Quite the opposite. The holidays are a great time to reflect, be thankful, and optimistically look forward to another adventurous loop around Sun.

This spirit of being thankful starts at home with our family and friends. They are the primary reason we work hard to provide for our families and create a quality of life. Here at X2nSat the line between friends, family, and co-workers is pretty blurry. Relatively speaking we do not have an overly large team of employees, but we are extremely agile and passionate about what we do.

This past year we have much to be thankful about regarding the vibrancy of our company and the world of opportunities and possibilities that await us as we approach 2017. Our recent announcement of our new Teleport in Las Cruces, New Mexico reflects the growing nature of the X2nSat family. We look forward to immersing ourselves with the vibrant community there as well.

Giving back has always been an important element of the culture here at X2nSat. Petaluma, CA and Sonoma County is the place we are proud to call home. There are many other community-minded businesses here that share our desire to give back and look out for our friends and neighbors.

Over the years we have been honored to work with the great folks from the local Rotary Club, the Committee on the Shelterless(COTS), as well as the Petaluma PD’s K-9 program. Each of these organizations and many others do great work in our community and contribute significantly to the quality of life we all enjoy.

Since before Thanksgiving and continuing until next Friday, December 9th, we will be collecting food items for the COTS kitchen that provides over 300 meals every day of the year. You can drop off items here at our office in Petaluma or at the Mary Isaak center on Hopper Street. Click the link below for details on the types of items they need and to find out more about the amazing work this group does for our community.

COTS Petaluma Kitchen Food Items Needed

The main point of this week’s blog is to provide a simple reminder to remember what is truly important in life and look around and see what you can do to help those around you in need. Of course any time of year is the right time to do what we can for others in need, but if now is the time you are inspired to do so all the better.

We love what we do here at X2nSat and are extremely grateful to all of our clients who trust us to provide them with vital communications services. We also appreciate the support our families show us as our team of dedicated employees works together for our common mission. Just be sure to take some time to slow down during the mad dash over the next few weeks from Thanksgiving to Christmas and reflect on all the things you are grateful for in your life. We know we will.
