Meet our X2nSat mascot Albert the Space Monkey! He will be traveling with our CEO, Garrett Hill, as he travels the U.S. and Europe visiting partners and clients.
So who is Albert? Well, he is – was – a real monkey. This image of another monkey named Baker is in the public domain because, well, he’s famous and he was in space. But we’re more interested in Albert because he was the FIRST monkey in space, a feat we admire greatly.
According to this NASA article, Albert was a Rhesus monkey who was launched into space on June 11, 1948. Brave monkey!
We’re fans of innovators and the brave who broke the barriers of space exploration, so thought it would be fitting and fun to bring Albert with us on our travels.
Watch for Albert’s escapades on X2nSat’s social media channels and follow him using Twitter hashtag #spacemonkey.
